Fanny is excited but also nervous about the upcoming trip, as it is her first time leaving her comfort zone and her family. Upon arriving in Leipzig, Fanny is warmly greeted by Lena and her family. She quickly settles into her new surroundings and begins attending school with Lena. Despite the initial language barrier, Fanny is determined to make the most of her time in Germany and immerse herself in the culture.

As the days go by, Fanny and Lena form a strong bond and become inseparable. They explore the city together, trying traditional German foods, visiting landmarks, and even attending local events and festivals. Fanny's love for languages becomes evident as she starts to grasp the basics of the German language, impressing Lena and her family with her quick progress.

However, Fanny's experience takes an unexpected turn when she discovers that Lena is struggling with her own personal issues. Lena confides in Fanny about feeling isolated and unhappy at school, and Fanny, who has become more confident and self-assured during her time in Germany, decides to help her new friend.

With Fanny's support and encouragement, Lena gradually opens up to her classmates and becomes more involved in school activities. Fanny's kindness and genuine interest in Lena's well-being bring about a positive change in Lena's life, and their friendship grows even stronger.

Towards the end of her stay, Fanny realizes how much she has grown during her time in Leipzig. She has not only improved her language skills but also gained a deeper understanding of different cultures and the importance of friendship. As she says goodbye to Lena and her host family, Fanny feels a mix of sadness and gratitude for the unforgettable experiences she had in Germany.

Back in Strasbourg, Fanny returns home with a newfound confidence and a broader perspective on life. Inspired by her time abroad, she decides to pursue a career in languages and hopes to continue exploring different cultures through her work.

"Foreign Languages" is a heartwarming story about friendship, personal growth, and the power of stepping out of one's comfort zone. Through Fanny's journey, the film reminds us of the transformative nature of travel and the beauty of embracing new experiences.

可能是目前為止主競(jìng)賽中最為復(fù)雜的電影了。是它劇情復(fù)雜嗎？肯定不是。而是它涉及的內(nèi)容實(shí)在紛繁龐雜，而且影片的前后兩部分界明顯，而好壞就此也分出了，前半段有多么的優(yōu)秀，后半段就變得不能說(shuō)是壞，但真的是不如前半段。

觀影后我陷入了長(zhǎng)久且矛盾的思考，這究竟是是一部如同已經(jīng)拍了無(wú)數(shù)遍的類似于《親密》（2021）《怪物》（2023）那種講述純潔友情最后真正愛上對(duì)方的同性電影，還是一部全片充斥著刻板印象的政治電影呢？我不知道，我不確定。

在發(fā)布會(huì)上，導(dǎo)演表示這不是同性愛情電影更不是關(guān)于青少年友誼的電影，是的，同性元素是其中一部分，但絕對(duì)不止于此，影片其實(shí)是關(guān)于兩代人之間的政治電影。電影的故事其實(shí)非常簡(jiǎn)單，講述的是一來(lái)自法國(guó)的 17 歲女學(xué)生芬妮前往德國(guó)進(jìn)行語(yǔ)言交流。

在萊比錫，她遇到了與她同齡、渴望參與政治活動(dòng)的筆友萊娜。為了給萊娜留下深刻印象，害羞孤僻的芬妮用“善意”的謊言為自己編造了另一種生活，但她很快就陷入了自己的騙局。而兩人的關(guān)系也漸漸地緊密親密起來(lái)……

全片時(shí)刻充滿著關(guān)于種族國(guó)家的刻板印象：國(guó)家、社會(huì)運(yùn)動(dòng)、政治陰謀、家庭關(guān)系、文化差異、自我認(rèn)知、愛情友情、語(yǔ)言障礙等一系列熱點(diǎn)議題似乎都觸及到了。

印象最深刻的莫過(guò)于法國(guó)女孩第一次來(lái)到德國(guó)的學(xué)校，各種德國(guó)同學(xué)的“刻板印象”的種族歧視就撲面而來(lái)，她們攻擊法國(guó)人為什么英語(yǔ)那么不好？法國(guó)為什么喜歡罷工，是因?yàn)椴幌矚g上班嗎？法國(guó)為什么那么多素食主義者？取笑女生的名字等等。

但等到后半段德國(guó)女生來(lái)到法國(guó)學(xué)校的時(shí)候，那種“刻板印象”的種族歧視則更為嚴(yán)重，對(duì)她施納粹禮，再次所謂的“調(diào)侃”性攻擊德國(guó)這個(gè)國(guó)家等等。

影片所展示的一切議題都是十分尖銳更是毫不留情的，本以為會(huì)是《親密》（2022）那種展示同性之間純潔的友情，但它從未沒往那方面靠近，甚至越走越遠(yuǎn)。而當(dāng)觸及到社會(huì)議題與政治熱點(diǎn)問題時(shí)，觀眾會(huì)想到《阿黛爾的生活》（2013），但它給你玩點(diǎn)別的。

最后影片與《如何做愛》（2023）殊途同歸，建立身體的親密關(guān)系后，雙方精神上的親密在我看來(lái)不僅僅源于她們所經(jīng)歷的一切，更是與社會(huì)運(yùn)動(dòng)賦予的“愛情力量”密切相關(guān)。不論實(shí)話還是謊言都不重要了，因?yàn)樗齻円呀?jīng)愛上了對(duì)方，本以為這會(huì)是影片最后的落腳點(diǎn)，但結(jié)果結(jié)尾還是回到了政治議題。總之，可以理解導(dǎo)演想借同性議題來(lái)探討政治，但主題過(guò)于復(fù)雜，不如聚焦在兩個(gè)本善但歷經(jīng)現(xiàn)實(shí)沖擊的女性角色的蛻變過(guò)程上。

直至落筆，我仍不確定我對(duì)影片的評(píng)價(jià)，我需要在銀幕上再次與它相遇，才能厘清龐大繁雜的細(xì)節(jié)中愛情與政治的糾纏。所以我只能說(shuō)我不太喜歡這部片子，但也不可否認(rèn)的是《外語(yǔ)》很有可能是繼今年主競(jìng)賽伊朗電影《我最喜歡的蛋糕》后最有希望爭(zhēng)金熊獎(jiǎng)的影片，它實(shí)在（過(guò)于）契合當(dāng)下西方社會(huì)，更契合柏林這個(gè)政治電影節(jié)，也許也契合了評(píng)審團(tuán)口味的金熊獎(jiǎng)。
